The
Central Asia Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting
peace through education.Working in
Central Asia, the CAI has built 66 schools and 14 women's vocational centers in
the rural underserved areas of Pakistan
and Afghanistan. They have a creative collaborative approach
to building schools, requiring villages to be financially and emotionally
committed to not only the school, but the education of their girls before
construction begins.Of the 24,000
students currently attending CAI schools 14,300 are girls. The CAI fights ignorance and poverty and
offers hope to a destitute and often forgotten region of the world. To learn

Tarsian
& Blinkley/Maharat:
Tarsian
& Blinkley, founded by Sarah Takesh, is Afghanistan's first designer
clothing company, incorporating traditional Afghan embroidery techniques with
bold fashionable designs. The company
has a collaborative relationship with the women it employs, allowing and
encouraging them to express themselves through their work. Sarah has set a bold
social agenda to train and aid her employees, and donations from Mamie &
Mable will be used to help meet those goals.
Kabul is one of the fastest
growing cities in the world.Unemployment rages and with a constant flood of refugees the city's
delicate economic balance is being further strained. Some of our donations will also be used to
provide direct aid and relief to people living in Kabul's swelling refugee camps. To learn more about Tarsian & Blinkley
